Overview

CTLG (catalog) is the future of music licensing, serving as a curated marketplace for musicians and brands to collaborate. Musicians upload tracks for Brands to license and integrate into movies, games, podcasts, streaming projects, and more.

The Challenge

Music licensing has long been a fragmented, relationship-dependent process — one where brands struggle to find the right track and independent musicians rarely get access to the deals that matter. The challenge was building a two-sided marketplace that served two audiences with fundamentally different needs: artists who want their music discovered and fairly compensated, and brands who need the right sound fast, without navigating a labyrinth of rights clearances and back-channel negotiations.

The Solution

We designed CTLG as a curated marketplace that made both sides of the transaction feel effortless. For artists, an upload flow automatically transcribed and tagged tracks with rich metadata, removing the manual burden of getting music in front of the right people. For brands and music supervisors, AI-powered search across genre, mood, tempo, and keywords made finding the ideal track as intuitive as any modern discovery experience. Marketing materials were crafted to establish CTLG's presence in a credibility-driven industry, centering the authenticity of real musicians over algorithmic abstraction. The platform went from design to launch in 12 weeks, with 500+ committed music creators on board at launch.
